1. A proposal to grant an Honorary Degree may be made by a member of the Academic staff from a particular Department through the School to the Senate.
    2. Every such proposal shall be accompanied by a written statement setting forth the Degree recommended and the detailed grounds on which the recommendation is based.
    1. Such proposal shall be referred to the Honorary Degree Committee of the Council as provided for in schedule VI of the Statutes.
    2. In each case, the Dean/Director of the School in which the Degree is proposed to be conferred shall be consulted.
  1. Any recommendations made by the Honorary Degree Committee for the conferring of any Degree shall be reported to both the Council and the Senate for confirmation
