JOOUST HOSTS 1ST KUPAA’S WORKSHOP

Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology hosted the 1st National Drama Workshop of Kenya Universities Performing Arts and Film Association (KUPAA). The first of its kind, the workshop will take place for a week starting 29th October -2nd November 2018.

The Workshop under the theme “Harnessing Creative Talent for Development” brought on board public universities including Egerton University, Technical University of Kenya (TUK), Multimedia University, Kenyatta University, Meru university, Pwani University and Maasai Mara University.

While addressing the participants at the workshop, the Vice - Chancellor Prof. Stephen Agong’ encouraged the students to take seriously the art talents as it is one sure source of income that would help them much in their life.  Prof. Agong’ challenged the drama team to use their dramatic skills in passing important information.

During the official opening of the workshop, Prof. Joseph Bosire, the DVC Academic Affairs, welcomed the idea of bringing Universities together to bring out a higher standard of performance as compared to that of other levels of academic institutions. Prof. Bosire challenged the Universities to be leaders in their performances by coming up with quality productions.

KUPAA steering committee led by the chairman Dr. Bonface Isalamba of Maasai Mara University, Secretary General Eng. Patrick Ogutu of TUK and Ruth Mutahi of Mount Kenya University who is the treasurer, among other leaders have been on the ground following the proceedings.
