“DEVELOPING A HOLISTIC STUDENT IN A FRAGILE SOCIETY” VICE CHANCELLOR ADDRESSES THE FIRST YEARS

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Agong’, has assured the first year students of the University’s commitment to developing holistic students in a fragile society while giving his first address as he officially ushered in the 2017 cohort into the University.

Prof. Agong’ gave hope to the over a thousand freshmen and women for a bright future which they must work towards by putting their right foot forward while in the University. “This is an opportunity to determine the direction, plot and tempo of your story. You will have the opportunity to learn new things, acquire new knowledge, develop new skills, innovate and enhance personal attributes that will equip your life at the University and beyond.” the Vice Chancellor said.

Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs Prof. Joseph Bosire said the University shall strive to ensure that they enjoy their academic life in and out of class. While welcoming the first years, Deputy Vice Chancellor Research, Innovation and Outreach Prof. Benson Estambale,   encouraged the students to do their best in order to achieve what brought them here. “This is the best University in the Country” added Prof. Francis Ang’awa, Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor Planning Administration and Finance.

The week long orientation involved interactive sessions and welcome remarks from deans, directors, heads of departments and staff.
