STAFF SENSITIZED ON ISO TRANSITION TO 9001:2015 STANDARDS

University staff were sensitized on the impending transition to the new standard from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 Standards on Friday 31st August 2018. This is through a deliberate effort to adopt Quality Management Systems in its operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the operations for purposes of improving the quality of service delivery.

While addressing staff during a luncheon organized by the University management to sensitize staff members on the need for quality service delivery, Prof. Francis Ang’awa, the Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Planning. Administration and Finance reiterated the need for staff to always be at their best in offering quality services to its clients both internal and external. “We will not accept anything less than quality service delivery especially since JOOUST is aiming for global quality standards.”

“The University has so far made efforts to ensure the transition is successful and within the provided period which is ending next month.” Added Prof. Ang’awa. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor added that efforts have been fruitful and the benefits realized for all to see in the improved work environment and the quality of services to customers.

The University was first 1SO 9001: 2008 Certified in June, 2012 while still Bondo University College and was Re-Certified in June 2016. Activities so far undertaken include: - Training of ISO Champions on the requirements of the new standard, sensitization of Top Management on the new Standards, training of implementers, training of auditors, undertaking documentation and review to conform to the new standards including Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, Quality Manual and the entire work procedures and the just concluded Internal audits.
