JaramogiOgingaOdinga University of Science and Technology held its 5th Graduation Ceremony on the 23rd of March 2018 at its Main Campus in Bondo. The event was celebrated in pomp and colour as about 1500 graduands were conferred with Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates in various fields.
The Chief Guest during the event was the Principal Secretary, State Department of University Education and Research, Prof. JaphetMicheniNtiba. Prof. Ntiba, praised the University’s Management for the good work and effort it had put in promoting research and innovation. He assured the University that him together with the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Education, Amb. Dr. Amina Mohamed would pay a courtesy call to the University to learn more about its success. He lauded the University for the prudent management of resources and said that he could welcome the Vice-Chancellor for talks with other Universities to emulate JOOUST.
The Chancellor, Dr. Vimal Shah on his part encouraged the graduands to play a key role in innovations and technology as the world was fast shifting towards technology. The Chairman of Council, Dr. Walter Ongeti reiterated the commitment of the University’s Council in propelling the University towards world class status in research and training.
The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Agong’ said that the University would make greater stride in ensuring that it patents and promotes the Innovations produced at the University. He thanked the graduands for the discipline that had set them apart from other graduands and asked them to come back and build the University through its Alumni platform.
The celebration was graced by among other guests, Rarieda M.P, Hon, OtiendeAmollo andProf. David Kodia, ACK Bishop of Bondo.
