1. Promote equity in gender staff appointment and promotion;
  2. Enhance gender equity in student admissions and management;
  3. Sexual harassment based on gender;
  4. Mainstreaming gender equity among staff and students;
  5. Incorporate gender equity in research, innovation and outreach initiatives;
  6. Incorporate gender equity issues in curriculum; and
  7. Promote research in gender issues.

  1. Chairperson of the Board who shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor from among the senior academic staff;
  2.  Director, Secretary;
  3.  Registrar (RIO);
  4. Registrar (AA);
  5. Registrar (PA); and
  6. Four Academic staff representatives, balanced by gender.

Terms of Reference

  1. be answerable to the Vice-Chancellor;
  2. receive regular progress reports for consideration and approval; and
  3. monitor and evaluate the general performance of the Directorate.
